The British Council’s priority is always to ensure the safety and well-being of our teaching centre customers, employees, and the communities in which we operate.
We had to cancel IELTS tests on the 29th of May in the following cities:
- Dortmund (partially)
All affected test takers have been contacted by e-mail. For further upcoming tests, we will contact you by email as soon as we have further information.

- Cultural Work
During this uncertain time, our students, customers and partners’ health is our priority. We have temporarily paused this activity in response to German government and health authority guidance. The British Council has postponed all cultural activities in Germany, where these events include public gatherings, for the duration of the state of alarm.
We are developing several online formats so that we can continue with our cultural programme. We have also developed a list of digital cultural offers that we keep up-to-date for you.
We will send more information via our news and events newsletter.
