The British Council and Banco Santander are partnering again to offer 10,000 free places for the Santander Course | English Online 2026 – British Council. This fully funded programme is open to residents in 12 countries, including Germany, and aims to help learners enhance their English skills and career prospects.
Applications are now open for the first round, offering 10,000 places to individuals aged 18+ with English proficiency from A1 to C1. Participants will receive eight weeks of online training, including interactive learning themes and teacher-led webinars. The top 1,500 learners will continue with an additional 20 weeks of advanced training through live classes taught by expert British Council teachers.
You do not need a university degree or be a Santander customer.
The application deadline is 19 November. Learn more and apply via Santander Open Academy. The results will be communicated by email from early December. The course is completely free of charge: all tuition and training fees are covered.
