Change in Perspective: Inclusion in the Visual Arts
How can we create a more inclusive future for the visual arts in Germany? This question was at the heart of the seminar Perspektivwechsel: Inklusion in der Bildenden Kunst (Change in Perspective: Inclusion in the Visual Arts), organised by the British Council in collaboration with Deutscher Künstlerbund, IGBK, and BBK Bundesverband, and expertly moderated by Dr. Kate Brehme (Berlinklusion).
The event brought together cultural experts from Germany and the UK to discuss structural gatekeeping in arts education and artistic practice, and to share practical approaches to fostering greater inclusion across the sector. Drawing on inspiring examples, speakers explored how sustainable change can be achieved in artists’ organisations and beyond.
