FameLab Germany final 2021 is going digital

Eight candidates from all over Germany made it to the final of our FameLab Germany 2021 competition on 22 April and will surely impress both the jury and audience with their engaging presentations. The final in Bielefeld will run via video live stream. The audience will not only be able to watch, viewers can but also ask questions in a live chat as well as participating in the voting for winner of the audience prize.

In three minutes, the audience will learn a lot in an entertaining way – about intelligent machines, green aluminium and the power of plants. And at the end of what is sure to be a very entertaining evening, it will be decided who will represent Germany at the International FameLab final and have the chance to become the winner of the world's largest science communication competition with 25 participating countries. 

FameLab is one of the biggest science communication competitions in the world

FameLab is the world’s leading science communication competition. Participants have just three minutes to win over the judges and crowd with a scientific talk that excels for its content, clarity and charisma.

Every year, we see some of the most impressive young researchers on the FameLab regional heat stages across Germany. The two best partipants of every regional heat go on to the national final in Bielefeld to compete for the chance to represent Germany at the FameLab International final at the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK.

In 2021, FameLab will take place for the eleventh year, with the competition heats taking place in four cities across Germany: Karlsruhe, Bielefeld, Regensburg and Dresden. The final will take place, as in previous years, in Bielefield. Read on to find out more about the history of this fantastic competition.
