Werkleitz festival .move ON presents media art from Canada, Australia and Europe
A total of 16 artists and collectives from the grant programme European Media Artists in Residence Exchange (EMARE) 2014/15 are taking part. The work was made at the ten network host institutions in Australia, Canada and Europe (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology in Liverpool amongst them) and most are being shown for the first time in Germany.
In their new work they are predominantly concerned with the media analysis of current technologies and the assessment of their social relevance, with virtual reality and fiction and with altered audio-visual narrative structures. Objects of contemplation are afro-futurism, asylum, urban life, alternative future scenarios and bubbles.
