Convenient test dates, quick results with paper-based IELTS
If you choose paper-based IELTS, you will answer the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on paper. The Speaking test is carried out face-to-face with a trained IELTS examiner.
The Listening, Reading and Writing sections of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day. The speaking test may be offered:
- on the same day as the other sections of the test between 12.30 and 18.00. Exact time will be communicated on test day.
- a day before (on Friday, when the main test is on Saturday)
- a day after (on Friday, when the main test date is on Thursday)
IELTS is designed to be a fair test and your English language ability will be assessed objectively, regardless of any special needs that you may have. We can help you with any special arrangements you require for the test. Please note that candidates who require special arrangements such as extra time or modified question paper material must be registered for the paper-based and not the computer-based test. Please contact us three months in advance of your test date to find out how you can apply for special arrangements.
