Paines Plough After the End by Dennis Kelly

Paines Ploughs recent production After the End by Dennis Kelly was directed by the new artistic director Roxana Silbert. The play was staged at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival and until only recently at the Bush Theatre in London.

They were all in the pub when the explosion happened.  Louise wakes up to find herself trapped with Mark, who has saved her life. Mark is always prepared for the worst and has everything he thinks they will need to survive; tinned chilli, Dungeons and Dragons and a knife - now all they need to do is to wait until it's safe to go outside. Can they survive the attack? Can they survive each other?

Dennis Kelly burst onto the scene with his brilliantly twisted debut Debris in 2003. His new play Osama The Hero has recently been produced in London .

Paines Plough This Other England

This Other England, a season of plays from some of the UK 's most exciting writers that opened at London 's up-and-coming Off-West End space, The Menier Chocolate Factory, in January, was inspired by the BBC Radio 4 series The Routes of English , presented by Melvyn Bragg. The Herculean task the series set itself was to trace key changes in English from its origins over one thousand years ago to its current condition as a language spoken and understood by one and a half billion people worldwide.

The first four plays – produced first because they arrived first – are from David Greig ( Pyrenees ), Douglas Maxwell ( If Destroyed True ), Enda Walsh ( The Small Things ) and Philip Ridley ( Mercury Fur ).
