For the first time the DAAD and British Council are organising a joint Lektoren seminar, which will bring together two important groups of cultural multipliers: the German DAAD Lektoren working in UK universities and UK Lektoren teaching at universities around Germany. The seminar will be opened by Christian Bode, Generalsekretär DAAD Bonn, and Kathryn Board OBE, Director British Council Germany.

The seminar is intended as a professional networking opportunity as well as a training event to update Landeskunde knowledge, education policy and presentation techniques. The programme devised jointly by the DAAD London and the British Council Germany includes bilateral sessions on recent political developments in the British-German relationship, contemporary trends in the Arts, journalistic perspectives from both sides, the issue of identity politics and mutual stereotypes and a British-German poetry slam!
