The test has four parts: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The first three parts take place without a break with the Speaking part taking place in the afternoon.
Our tests take place on a Saturday and we would advise you to keep the whole day free for the test. The test as such takes just under three hours: You have 30 minutes for the Listening, 60 minutes each for the Reading and Writing and 11 to 14 minutes for the Speaking interview.
The first three parts take place without a break with the Speaking part taking place in the afternoon. In the course of the afternoon the Speaking Tests will be held between 13.30 and 18.00. Please ensure that you are free during this period. The Speaking Test takes about 15 minutes and is a face to face interview with an IELTS Examiner.
The test is offered up to 36 times a year in 14 cities around Germany.

No. IELTS is a pen-and-paper-based test. At no point are candidates asked to use a computer. The Speaking interview takes place with an experienced Speaking Examiner and not with a computer.
The test fee is €200.
IELTS offers a full service: In addition to the test itself, the use of 30 hours of our online preparation course “Road to IELTS” is already included in the test fee. Moreover, we are happy to send your results to up to 5 institutions on your behalf. This service is also already included in the test fee.
We are quick: We guarantee that our candidates can access their results 13 days after the test took place. We will also send out the physical Test Reports to candidates and any institutions candidates have identified before the test on this day.
Talk to us: In addition to email support IELTS Germany offers its candidates an info hotline (030-31 10 99 10, Mon-Thurs, 10am-2pm, Fri, 10am-12noon) as well as the possibility to contact us via twitter.
IELTS puts people first. That is why our test conditions are among the fairest in the industry: Contrary to other language tests, candidates are allowed to take a bottle of water with them into the test room – a comfort not to be underestimated in a two-and-a-half hour test situation. In addition, candidates move on to the next part of the test together, ensuring the peace and quiet they need in order to concentrate and perform at their best.
Furthermore, IELTS does not use any computer-testing. Our test is a pen-and-paper test and the Speaking interview is with an experienced Speaking Examiner rather than with a computer.
Recognition: IELTS is also the only language test that is accepted by all UK universities. On top of that, IELTS is recognised by over 6,000 institutions in 135 countries throughout the world, among them over 3,000 institutions in the USA.
