Preparing for the world of work - language education for the future: British Council Languages for Europe Conference, 26-27 January 2010, Berlin While previous Berlin conferences have addressed issues in English language policy, this year's event will address aspects of modern languages policy in general. The event will focus on how the teaching of modern languages can prepare the learner for the world of work and how teachers need to be trained in order to be able to best provide this preparation. Through exchanging expertise and developing networks across Europe, the event will contribute to the sharing of best practice to map out future directions which respond to the needs and perspectives of learners, teachers, educational institutions and prospective employers. It is aimed at teacher trainers, education managers, researchers, and teachers of modern foreign languages in Germany and other European countries. For further information and the online registration form for participants please go to www.britishcouncil.de/e/english/conferences.htm The final deadline for registration is Wednesday, 4 January 2010. Please note that places are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. |
