Preparing for the world of work - language education for the future: British Council Languages for Europe Conference,
26-27 January 2010, Berlin

We are now seeking proposals for our Languages for Europe Conference in January 2010 in Berlin:

Preparing for the world of work - language education for the future

While previous British Council Berlin conferences have addressed issues in English language policy, this year's event will address aspects of modern languages policy in general. We would therefore also welcome speakers whose background is not in English language, but please note the conference will be conducted in English. The event will focus on how the teaching of modern languages can prepare the learner for the world of work and how teachers need to be trained in order to be able to best provide this preparation.

It is aimed at teacher trainers, education managers, researchers, and teachers of modern foreign languages in Germany and other European countries.

For full information please see our website at www.britishcouncil.de/e/english/conferences.htm

If you are interested in attending the 2010 conference as a speaker, please complete the speaker's proposal form (available online at above address) and send it to elt.germany@britishcouncil.de by Friday 29 September 2006.

If you are interested in attending the conference as a participant, you will be able to register from mid-September onwards.

We very much look forward to hearing from you!
