For cancellations received no later than five weeks before the test date, the test fee will be refunded, less an administrative fee of €45. To cancel your test date, please complete our Transfer/Refund Form and e-mail it to ielts.plus@britishcouncil.de.

Change of Test Date
One change of test date is possible and free of charge if the request is received no later than 5 weeks before the exam. Illness on the Test Day
If you are ill on the test day we need the following documents from you within five working days of the test date:

  • An original medical certificate covering the test date (only original yellow sick notes are accepted)

  • A completed Transfer/Refund Form (Download)

If we have not received the required documentation by the fifth working day after the test, you will be marked as absent and forfeit all claims. Copies sent by fax or e-mail are not accepted.

If both documents reach us within the deadline, you have two options:

  • A full refund of the test fee,
less an administrative fee of €45.00

  • A single transfer to a new test date
(within three months of the original test date)

Candidates who receive a transfer to a new test date and who are ill on the second test date are not entitled to a refund of the test fee nor to any further transfer to a new test date.
