- Our visual arts, architecture and design activities reflect our regional themes and major initiatives with an emphasis on new, innovative work by emerging artists as well
as representative events.
- We foster long-term relationships and professional partnerships between German gallerists, curators and specialists with British artists and institutions.
- We provide information to professionals about new developments in the UK, support showcase and festival visits as well as organise tailor-made study tours for selected German specialists.
- We support touring exhibitions set up by our Visual Arts and Design Departments in London.
- Our London-based Grants to Artists scheme provides travel and transport to British artists. Guidelines for applications are available here.
Activities are planned in close consultation with our Visual Arts and Design Departments in London

Applications for financial support from the British Council Germany (mainly towards project travel and transport costs) are to be submitted after discussion with and agreement from Dr. Elke Ritt , Head Arts and Creative Industries
