Bringing professionals together
  • Our literature activities (for example, festivals) reflect our regional themes and major initiatives.
  • We organise seminars on current themes of contemporary British literature and bring authors, translators, teachers and professors, publishers and journalists together.
  • We inform about new trends and developments in the British literature scene.
  • We support and advise on speakers for conferences on contemporary British literature.
Many of our Literature activities are planned in consultation with our Literature Department in London.


Applications for financial support (mainly towards travel costs and reading fees) are to be submitted after discussion with and agreement from Marijke Brouwer , Literature Manager (E-Mail marijke.brouwer@britishcouncil.de ).
